In a word... YES!

God wants to be part of our lives. He loves us so much more than we could ever imagine. He hand-picked each one of us. He created us in his image. He's our Heavenly Father. He wants the best for us just like our parents want the best for us, and we want the best for our children. If our Children ask for help, we typically jump on it ASAP because our babies need us no matter how old they are. It makes us feel helpful, wanted, and needed. You know that feeling. It feels good. It brings you joy knowing that you did something for your kids (little or big), especially when they appreciate it. LOL.

Our God is no different. He's our Heavenly Father. He's perfect, all-knowing, all-powerful, unconditionally loving, and gracious, to name a few. He's sitting beside us right now, holding our hand. He's willing and able to answer all your prayers. He may answer with "yes," "no," or "not yet," but He will answer. You have to be listening and patient because all things are Great in God's timing.

God wants us to ask for help in the same way we want our Children to need our help. He's waiting for you to ask. Now, I don't mean ask to win the lottery when you don't even play or ask to lose 10 pounds when you don't even try to watch what you eat (let's be realistic). God does give us common sense and expects us to use it. I'm talking about asking for help with things that are not within your power.

Example situation 1: You have been watching what you eat for the past two weeks and exercising two times per week, but you are not seeing any changes in the scales or your body composition. You are starting to feel like you are wasting your time and that it's no use. "I'll never lose the weight." "I guess I'm meant to be this way."

Example prayer 1: God, please help me stay consistent and stick with it. Give me the strength to overcome any barriers that may come in my path to prevent me from becoming a healthier version of myself. In Jesus' name, I pray, Amen.

Example situation 2: You have decided to start working out to get toned up and healthy. You know it will benefit you and help you feel and look better. But busy life starts getting in the way after two workouts. Other priorities seem to become barriers to getting that workout in. You think to yourself, "I'll do it after work," "I'll do it after I finish dinner," or "I'll do it in the morning," But before you know it, 3 weeks have gone by, and you still haven't made time for exercise.

Example prayer 2: God, please help me make physical activity a priority in my life. Help me have the strength to complete a workout today. Fill me with your strength to overcome any barriers that may come in my path to prevent me from becoming a healthier version of myself. In Jesus' name, I pray, Amen.

These are just a couple of scenarios to help you get a picture of how to pray for each situation. Being specific in your prayers is very helpful. Simply praying, "God, help me to lose weight," isn't specific. How do you want to lose weight? Maybe try... "God, please help me figure out how and what I need to do to lose some weight and become a healthier version of myself. Give me the wisdom and knowledge I need to accomplish my health journey goals. In Jesus' name, I pray, Amen." You see, God wants to help us, but he also wants to help us learn how to become the best version of ourselves. So, He may not magically snap his fingers or speak the word to give us a healthy body; he may want us to work for it to learn how to take care of it and truly appreciate it. Just like how we teach and discipline our children. We try to enable our children and set them up for success. God does the same thing for us! He will provide for us what we cannot do ourselves. So when we pray for his help, He provides us with the wisdom, knowledge, skills, and mindset we need not just to survive but Thrive.

Yes, God cares about our Health journey! He will help us on this journey by providing what we need and teaching us every step of the way. So don't give up. Don't quit. Be strong in your faith, and He will see to it that your journey is fulfilling and memorable. Strong Faith. Greater Health.

Here are a few examples of prayers you can pray in the heat of the moment. Nothing fancy or formal. God wants to hear from you. Talk to him like you see HIM right beside you.

God, Please give me the energy I need to complete this workout.

God, please give me the strength to overcome any obstacles that may come my way.

God, please bless the food I'm putting in my body to nourish it and fill me with optimal energy levels that will keep me full for 3-4 hours.

God, please help me not have any junk food cravings today.

God, Please help me not to snack unless my body is hungry.

God, Please help me to stay motivated to eat right.

God, please help me stay motivated to work out.

God, please help me not to overeat or overindulge today. Help me eat only what my body needs and have the self-control to stop when I am 80% full.
